So you want to send things to the United Kingdom. A fascinating place that includes a great amount of history and football. That being said here is a quick overview of what you need to know:

You can have your things sent to anywhere in the UK. Our British agent’s network will cover any destination and service required. There are a few basic customs regulations that you need to keep in mind:

  • Goods must arrive within 6 months before or up to 12 months after the client’s arrival to the UK to be considered personal effects that are being repatriated.

If the customer is returning to the UK from the US:

  • Personal effect shipments are duty free and VAT free assuming you have had them in your possession for at least 6 months and have lived outside the UK for at least 12 months. You are also not able to sell those items within 12 months of your arrival to the UK.

If the customer is living outside the European Community

  • Used HHG and personal effects can be duty free but probably would still have to pay VAT assuming you have had them in your possession for at least 6 months and have lived outside the UK for at least 12 months. You are also not able to sell those items within 12 months of your arrival to the UK.
  • Customer has to either own a secondary home or rent one for at least 24 months.
  • Declared on c-33 Special Situation: Students/Newlyweds/Visitors specific and more updated info can always be found if you contact directly the Embassy/Consulate


Documents You Will Need:

  • Customs Form C-3 for Primary Residence
  • Customs Form C-33 for Secondary Residence
  • Inventory/Packing list
  • C104A/C104F/C384 (MOTOR VEHICLES)
  • PASSPORT [VALID]

**Any items that are less than six months old require invoice and are dutiable**

Prohibited items:

  • Firearms
  • Ammunition
  • Flick Knives/Explosives and Fireworks
  • Meat/Poultry/Fish
  • Radio Transmitters
  • Animals whether alive or dead
  • Drugs and Narcotics
  • Counterfeit Currency
  • Pornographic Material and Horror comics
